Communicator (IM)
- Instant Messaging (IM) is a form of real-time communication between two or more people based on typed text. The text is conveyed via computers connected over a network.
- Instant messaging is NOT recommended for communications which have lasting business value. For long-term storage of communications, use e-mail and/or electronic document management systems. NOTE: Instant message conversations are NOT archived.
- Instant messaging is a "presence" technology, meaning that your device (e.g., computer) is identified when you connect to the network.
- OCP's IM system only connects to staff using OCP's network resources.
